The YMCA of San Benito County is thrilled to announce its partnership with Hollister High School to manage the Baler Aquatic Center, expanding community access to high-quality swim programs and aquatic fitness opportunities.
“The YMCA invented swim lessons, and we are thrilled to bring our expertise to Hollister High School,” said Amy Grames, CEO of the Central Coast YMCA. “This partnership will enhance access to water safety and fitness programs for students and residents alike.”
Mayra Zendejas-Yerena, Senior Vice President of the Central Coast YMCA and a proud Hollister High School alum, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration. “This partnership is more than just managing a pool—it’s about creating opportunities for our community to come together. I’m honored to see the YMCA of San Benito County serve both the school and the families of our community. We are committed to providing programs that foster water safety, health, and a sense of belonging for all.”
Since 1999, the YMCA of San Benito County has been dedicated to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Now managing the Baler Aquatic Center furthers this mission by offering opportunities for physical and mental well-being through a variety of aquatic programs, including:
- Swim Lessons for all ages and skill levels.
- Lap Swim with morning and evening availability.
- Family Swim for fun and relaxation.
- Pool Rentals for private events and celebrations.
“We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Through our programs at the Baler Aquatic Center, we’re not just teaching swimming skills—we’re building confidence, and fostering a lifelong love for aquatic activities,” said Crystal Canchola, Executive Director of the YMCA of San Benito County. “We’re excited to provide a space where youth, families, and seniors can develop physically and mentally while having fun in the water.”
