After School & Break Camp Programs

Enriching Academia!

The YMCA of the Monterey Peninsula provides a wide variety of academic enrichment and safe constructive alternatives for students. A broad range of activities may be implemented based on local student needs and interests.

After School Programming

In partnership with the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, the YMCA of the Monterey Peninsula is providing after school care at Crumpton Elementary and hosting Monte Vista Elementary at our facility. Our Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) is designed to support students in our community by providing a safe place after school where students can stay active, remain social and receive academic and emotional support. Our program is conveniently held on campus and at our Monterey YMCA until 6pm for 180 days of school as well as an additional 30 days of intersessions.

ELO-P Benefits

On and Off campus programming
School dismissal until 6pm
Healthy Mind Time: 25 minutes of reading followed by 35 minutes of homework assistance
A healthy snack
Participation in Youth Fit for Life and other physical activities
Participation in enrichment projects (S.T.E.A.M.), cooking activities, and more!

*Please note: If you see a pop-up message stating, 'Scheduled Programs are set at conflicting times,' it indicates that the student is still registered in another program. To resolve this, contact support@inplay.org to request their unregistration from the conflicting program before enrolling in ours.

Break Camps

Our Y camps are designed with the perfect amount of fun for your child. Our break camps are structured to include a daily dose of physical activity, art & creativity, group games and relationship building activities to keep you child engaged and happy during their academic breaks!

At the Y, no one is ever turned away because they lack the ability to pay. We offer financial assistance so everyone has the opportunity to take advantage of the Y's valuable programs and services.
