The Central Coast YMCA has a great opportunity for an “Excel Beyond the Bell” Counselor at our Outside of School Program. Counselor works closely with the Program Director to implement a fun, stimulating camp experience which results in personal growth and improved group work skills for the student.  Demonstrates ability to lead, facilitate, and participate in engaging activities. Maintains a professional image and work harmoniously with staff and members. Duties include assisting with the supervision of students while facilitating and participating in Homework help, STEAM projects, reading, enrichment and physical activities.

HOURS, SALARY, SCHEDULE

$13.00 – 16.00 per hour

Part-time/or Full-Time Seasonal

Monday through Friday, hours vary depending on programming

Dates of employment are (August 11, through June 1, 2021)

LOCATIONS

Monterey, Salinas, Watsonville, Hollister, Soledad, Seaside, Pacific Grove, and Carmel Valley

QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years of age
• Must be enrolled in High School or completed high school equivalency.
• CPR and First Aid certifications (within 60 days)
• Demonstrated ability to lead, facilitate and participate in engaging activities with children 5-13 years old.
• At least two-years related experience and/or training in related recreation, leisure services or related field with emphasis on youth programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the desirable knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Must pass a background screening
